Schools, Churches and Other Non-Profit Organizations to Benefit from BI-LO's Teaming with Its Customers
GREENVILLE, S.C. (FEBRUARY 12, 2010)— This month, more than 1,600 non-profit organizations across BI-LO’s operating area of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee will receive $213,128 through BI-LO’s boostersplus® Program, which gives BI-LO shoppers the opportunity to select community organizations to receive a portion of the proceeds from their purchases.
Since its inception during the 2005-06 school year, more than $1.8 million has been granted to non-profit organizations through the boostersplus® Program. boostersplus®, which gives consumers the opportunity to support a school, church or non-profit organization of their choice every time they shop at BI-LO with their My BI-LO BONUSCARD®, is just one more example of how BI-LO customers can save without sacrifice. Each customer can choose one or more organizations that are enrolled in the program, and BI-LO will support their designated organization by donating one percent of their total purchase back to that organization. When a customer has their My BI-LO BONUSCARD® linked to more than one organization, that customer’s eligible donations are split equally among those organizations, up to the one percent allotment.
“There are so many organizations in the communities we serve that our customers are very passionate about. With our boostersplus® Program, we are able to provide our customers with the chance to give back to these vital community organizations just by doing their regular grocery shopping at BI-LO,” said John Conroy, Senior Manager of Card Marketing with BI-LO.
