JBS SWIFT BEEF COMPANY EXPANDS RECALL
MAULDIN, S.C. (June 30, 2009) – JBS Swift Beef Company of Greeley, Colo., has recalled beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. BI-LO, LLC received a small amount of the recalled product.
The expanded recall includes beef products packed by Swift on April 21 and 22, 2009, and subsequently sold through retail outlets. No other BI-LO beef products are involved in this recall.
Recalled products include beef that may have been sold as sirloin top roast, sirloin tip steak, breakfast steak, beef tips, stew meat, stir fry beef, cube steak, ground beef, London broil roast, or top round steak. If consumers have any concerns regarding fresh beef products purchased, please return to the store where purchased for an exchange or refund.
